Research Project Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an organized project manager to support research studies that are impactful for the successful delivery of human services. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, as well as the ability to coordinate various aspects of research processes – from agenda and milestone setting to recruitment and enrollment to monitoring and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Manage operational aspects of research projects, including monitoring progress and facilitating communication
Support logistical planning for events, the data collection process, and workflow organization
Support, develop, and monitor recruitment and enrollment strategies for research studies
Conduct outreach and recruitment at sites within the community
Identify and troubleshoot barriers to enrollment and participant retention
Ensure adherence to study protocols
Monitor compliance and support reporting efforts for funders or other stakeholders
Support the development of relevant funding proposals
Track project expenditures within allocated budget
Build and maintain relationships with, and among, research partners and participant referral sources
Support other aspects of research, analysis, and evaluation, as needed

Required Qualifications
Strong project management skills and experience
Experience with using digital tools to support recruitment, such as Qualtrics or other survey platforms
Outstanding organizational and communication skills, including comfort working with community-based organizations, participants, and researchers
Proven problem-solving ability, with capacity to anticipate and address barriers
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and independently
Knowledge of basic research methods, including informed consent and research ethics
Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with planning, coordination, and execution of complex, multi-stakeholder research projects
Relevant personal experience with programs administered by DHS and populations served
Direct experience with government systems (especially human services) and community-led organizations

This position will be formally employed by Community Family Advocates. In this capacity, the individual will report directly to Allegheny County Department of Human Services and will carry out day-to-day responsibilities under the direction, supervision, and operational guidelines of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. While Community Family Advocates will serve as the official employer for administrative and human resources purposes, the role will function as an integrated part of Allegheny County’s team.
